She is not the same person anymore.
You are knocking at her door, trying to have somebody else opening it.
You are holding on to a memory of something that was a long time ago.
She is not the same person.
She has new habits, passions and goals.
Her diet changed along with her experiences and lessons.
She doesn’t have the same walk, the same hair or the same laugh.
Her direction is with the wind, with the earth and the waves.
The trees have been teaching her how to listen and gave her a new language.
Her roots have been planting deep, so deep that no matter where she is, they always follow from the core.
She was once, but now she isn’t.
You hope to talk to her, thinking that you could share again some of her precious time.
She is not the same person.
She doesn’t drink her emotions anymore.
She doesn’t smoke her thoughts away.
She doesn’t need to lay in someone’s bed to feel (or not) something again.
She is not the same person.
She walked through hell and back, alone;
And now she hops along the road holding her shadows by the hand.
They go skipping stones and drawing flowers in the sand.
Together they find countless of universes in clouds’ shapes.
She is not the same person.
She doesn’t wait for life to change, she doesn’t cling to ghosts of her past to feel something.
Neither should you.
Don’t go knocking to a stranger’s door deciding who should appear.
But if you need, you can sit in the porch and take sometime all by yourself.
Ask yourself why you are repeatedly ignoring the boundaries of another human being.
Someone who closed the door long ago.
Someone who asked you not to ring that bell any longer.
Why are you persisting?
She is not the same person.
If you allow yourself, you will realise what is standing in front of you is not a door, but a mirror.
You are being given another chance, look.
Take a sight within and catch a deep breath.
You are not looking for her.
You are looking for the boy you once were, with the girl she once was.
Those brief moments at the beginning, were dreams felt reachable, and your wounded, hard heart felt hopeful.
Ready to open, almost.
You are not looking for her.
You are looking for him.
You are looking for life.
She is not the same person anymore.
The girl left and has been replaced over and over, until the woman stepped up.
She is not the same anymore, and she won’t open that door.
But she knows that what this world needs is peace, love and care.
One more good person is an invaluable gift for humanity.
Be free.
Find yourself again.
Don’t allow the outer world to keep on dimming your light.
You allowed this to happen to yourself for far too long.
This world is painful and difficult,
Yet this life is worth all the same.
Doesn’t matter if we are 30, 40 or 77.
Magic does exist.
Miracles do happen.
And your heart deserves to open again.
Try, one more time. Try.
Give yourself another chance at life and grow, steady, strong, wise, and kind.
Be loving, be respectful.
Be gentle.
May this world be always gentle to you, too.
She is not the same person, and so are You.
Let her story go. Write yours.
You are not the same either.
"What a relief it is,
to finally grow into someone
you were always meant to meet".
Be gentle with your heart.
It’s time to walk forward,
not backward.
